I am an integrative therapist in private practice and I am also a counselling trainer.
Working integratively means that I use several different counselling approaches with my clients.
This way of working provides attention to the whole of a person - emotions, mind, and body as well as the meanings made of their experiences. Sessions are tailor made to suit individual clients.
I hold a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
My commitment to my work involves constant new learning through research and further training, this continuing professional development (CPD) benefits both my clients and myself.
I have many years’ experience in supporting clients in agency work and in private practice and provide short and long-term therapy. I am passionate about the work I do and this breathes life into the relationships I form with clients whatever the issues that bring them to contact me.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
I offer a safe and confidential space to work with whatever my clients bring. My aim is to support clients to increase their self-awareness, to focus on what needs or wants to change and on how that can be achieved.
The natural connections between emotion, mind and body can become strained or collapse due to life events or changes in personal circumstances. Forging new connections and restoring a greater sense of self is facilitated through therapy, life can then resume a more natural flow.
My clients can expect my interest, curiosity, respect and willingness to offer therapeutic support without judgement. I place an emphasis on exploration and expression of what is presenting and how that will serve in making sense of the past, living more fully in the present and looking to the future with greater clarity.
Clients can come to me with a specific issue or a more general desire to get to know themselves, to develop, grow and achieve a clearer sense how they want to be in the world and what they want from life.
I have experience in working with stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties at home, in work or in life in general and much more.
I have specialised in working with loss and grief offering one-to-one counselling and delivering training for a national charity. Supporting clients to accept and integrate their loss, to move towards a new normal is work that I am passionate about and have focused on for many years. Clients have discovered unexpected strengths and resources and found fresh ways to respond to their losses.
Whatever the issue, all sessions are for and about the client, tailored to meet their needs at their pace.
I receive clinical Supervision, am fully insured and am guided by an ethical framework.
